About the bird cams

The bird feeder station is located in the North Georgia Mountains about 400 feet uphill from the shoreline of Blue Ridge Lake which is where this cam is located.

The current bird cam is a Canon PTZ mounted in a Dotworkz marine enclosure. It’s connected to the Internet via a 15MB-down/786K-up cable connection.

The streaming, interior, birdhouse cam is seasonal (when bluebirds nest in the Spring/Summer).

There are two ways to save a still shot from the cam and feel free to use/distribute them anywhere:

1. On the main still shot page (feedmecam.com), right-click on the image, then “Save As”(or similar wording).

2. On the video page (feedmecam.com/video), take control of the cam by clicking on the blue “CLICK TO START” button. Then click the blue “SNAPSHOT” button to grab a still shot from the video. This will open a new browser window/tab with the captured image. Right-click on the image, then “Save As”(or similar wording).

Thanks for watching,
Kip

Hello there! I love watching all of the visitors hat frequent your bird feedercam. It is hard to identify some birds with the current cam position, i was wondering if you planned to move the cam to a direct shot of the feeder. It wouldn’t be a bother if it stays the same. It is, after all, you`re camera :-)

Thanks for providing this form of entertainment!!!

Yes, this cam is temporary; it’s going downtown. It’s not so hot for this application because it likes to shoot down. I have a new cam & feeder setup in mind for when this one goes away. Shopping…:)

I’ll see if I can make a few adjustments to the feeder while I wait, thanks for checking it out.

Happy New Year,
Do I see snow? What a surprise, you have more snow in GA then we have in PA.

Happy New Year!

Yes, we received a nice dusting after the sun went down. Light, champagne powder snow which is rare. Wish we had gotten a foot. North Carolina could get up to 10 inches.

Hi,

I’m happy to have found your site. I have just started one similar at my place in Rhode Island. Please check it out and perhaps we can link to each other’s web page.

Regards,

Traj

Thank you Traj, philip smith. Welcome!

Traj, do you plug your Hawk Eye cam straight into your Mac (I’m not a Mac guy, just have a Mini Mac) or do you use an RCA-to-USB converter? Time to start gearing the house cams up for Spring!
