About

All bird feeders and feed are purchased from Blue Ridge Bird Seed Company. Tom & Sonja and their staff have a wealth of local birding knowledge that comes with every product.

The feeders are attached to a stand-alone pole that Sonja recommended. One’s a Yankee Flipper, the other is a Droll Yankees Finch Flocker, and the third is a cool cedar suet (pellet) feeder that Sonja also recommended. The bird seed is Tom’s special mix.

The hummingbird feeders were picked up by my wife at various shops in town–support your local merchants! Right now they’re filled with sugar water.

The current webcam is a Panasonic Network Camera (BB-HCM531A) that’s attached to a weather station pole. It’s connected to the Internet via a 10MB cable connection.

I’ll be adding new stuff within camera range in the future, and I’m trying to figure out how to make the bird house cam I picked up browser-friendly.

As far as the blog, I pre-moderate all comments before they go live. I will make sure that this site remains a “G-rated” site.

Hello there! I love watching all of the visitors hat frequent your bird feedercam. It is hard to identify some birds with the current cam position, i was wondering if you planned to move the cam to a direct shot of the feeder. It wouldn’t be a bother if it stays the same. It is, after all, you`re camera :-)

Thanks for providing this form of entertainment!!!

Yes, this cam is temporary; it’s going downtown. It’s not so hot for this application because it likes to shoot down. I have a new cam & feeder setup in mind for when this one goes away. Shopping…:)

I’ll see if I can make a few adjustments to the feeder while I wait, thanks for checking it out.

    Happy New Year,
Do I see snow? What a surprise, you have more snow in GA then we have in PA.

    Happy New Year!

Yes, we received a nice dusting after the sun went down. Light, champagne powder snow which is rare. Wish we had gotten a foot. North Carolina could get up to 10 inches.

    Hi,

I’m happy to have found your site. I have just started one similar at my place in Rhode Island. Please check it out and perhaps we can link to each other’s web page.

    Regards,

    Traj
