Dang! So this is the secret reason for making a huge investment in feeders this month! Dy-no-mite! I’m watching from now on. Robert Kimsey reported his daughter called from Cincinnati to say that the Blue Ridge Web Cam had a new feeder cam. I’m hooked. I’ll bring over the trained birds next week……

Just bring over the expensive hardware and priceless advice for newbies like myself. I described to Sonja that we needed 3 feeders that would fit into a webcam’s view; I wouldn’t be surreptitious like that unless I knew I could really take on THE BIRDMAN.

New cam coming tomorrow. Hopefully some crisper/zoomed shots. Any advice to bring in more traffic? I also bought the bird house cam (Betty made me) and would also like to bend your ear on the best house to use for that here at the lake.

This web-site is so neat I live in Florida and wished I lived in the Mountains. This makes me feel like I am there! who ever set up this sight I want to thank you and say job well done. Now all I have to do is click my mouse and I am in Blueridge!!!

This feeding cam is wonderful; very relaxing and enjoyable to watch and hear the little critters. Thanks for sharing your nice little spot with everyone. Are you planning to add a bird bath? They are fun and entertaining too. Very nice addition to my “favorites” list.

Huh, how did you know what I was planning? There is a little “watering hole” bath on the ground if you pan down. I’m shopping for a big elevated one that will fit nicely into the cam’s view; that’s the most difficult part.

Thanks for checking it out. It’s a lot of fun and I can personally watch them closer than I can in real-life. If this takes off, I’ll have to upgrade to a higher-res cam; the zoom stinks on this cam.

Hi Kip - the new cam is great. Today’s birds (Goldfinches) have been on the Sky Cafe while I’ve been watching. I’m not surprised - the Sky Cafe is the best feeder I have ever used, and we have about 500 very satisfied customers who own one or more. Keep up the good work of bring Blue Ridge birds to our friends everywhere!

You’re not kidding. We call it the ‘Ski Chalet’. I see why that guy came in for the second one the next day. I yanked the Flipper and the Doves were flapping around in the front yard when we came home from dinner. Dude!

I’m assuming the fatties can’t flap-under the cafe roof to perch/feed?

PS: changing my ‘Yellow Finches’ ID to ‘Goldfinches’ ID per you, thanks. One word right? Also, what’s the minimal distance for the Bluebird house with regard to my other bird feeders? In other words, do they mind other birds/feeders as long as their house is out-in-the-open?

Wow!…just found this new birdfeeder webcam and have happily added it to my other BlueRidge webcams! Thank you so much! Our cabin is along Aska Road, so we get to “be there” in Blue Ridge when we are stuck down here (for now….can’t wait to be there permantly next year!). And I agree, the Sky Cafe is THE BEST birdfeeder! And Birdman’s Blend the best food! Got a Sky Cafe from Birdman about a year ago, and got another when we were up there in July/August. It IS squirrel proof! Someone mentioned Mourning Doves…yes, they are able to get on it, but that’s okay, I like them too. Thank you again for the webcams! I pass them on to all of us wishing we were in Blue Ridge!
